Hi! My name is Ginger and I'm a 3rd year student at Ringling College of Art and Design studying Fine Art and Photography. |
i have also become an avid baker and cook :)
its one of my favorite things to do, especially if i have people to feed
btw, i have now been a vegan for 6 months….. crazy! i don’t know that its something that i will do forever… but i have vegan tendencies anyway, so i feel ike even if i didn’t give myself the title, i would probably eat pretty much the same. and i believe that my becoming a vegan is what got me so into cooking (and i think my friends would agree that its a good thing!)
i need to start taking photos of the food i cook/bake
i’m taking a time based interactive class, where we are learning the MaxMsp program, which is a computer programing thing where you can create interactive pieces…… i’m also learning the arduino software and how to write in C… for my final i’m working with the lilypad arduino and creating a performance piece for the Cosmix show which is in the spring….
but thiiiis is a photo that i took with the photobooth sort of program i created in max as an experiment…. maybe someday i’ll figure out how to put it up here….
i made this dress for an envirosculpt competition at my school…. i didn’t win but i got many complements :)
(which made it worth having stayed up the whoooole night for something that wasn’t for a class)
its made from tea packets and receipts
this always makes me think of the owl city song fireflies :)

it was so much fun having the butterflies hanging on the ceiling in my room…. until the started falling! i think i might put them back up though…..
btw, this was a collaborative installation with my best friend for our cloth class (we had to make multiples of something)
butterflies and monsters at bedtime, oh my!
(i need to take one at night though…)
more in process photos….
although my critique on this piece was a looong time ago… i have yet to take a photo of the final product.
these are in process photos of my coffee filter dress
here’s a still
i’ve been making costume-ish kinds of things in my cloth class….
this is a gypsy costume that converts into a tent for the nomadic needs of your basic gypsy :)
i’ve really gotten interested in social art (frequently know as relational aesthetics in the contemporary art world) and making art for/with real people in my everyday real world :)
cooking/baking is one way i’m experimenting with…
this:
is my new favorite artist
piece where i made little packages and put cookies in them and delivered them to students campus mailboxes…. :)
